British athletes Luke Jamieson (RP1) and Sebastian Musson (AU2) closed out the IFSC World Championships in Seoul with impressive performances, placing 5th and 4th respectively in their categories.

At just 19 years old, this marks Musson’s second appearance at a World Championships. Competing in the AU2 category, he matched his result from Bern 2023, securing 4th place.

Speaking after the event, Musson reflected on his performance:

“I felt strong, but I started on a move that was further away than I expected and ended up falling there. I knew straight away it wouldn’t be enough to medal.

“It’s great to compete at a World Championship event - this is only my second one. The atmosphere is incredible and I’m already looking forward to the next.

“The rest of the season includes competing in Laval, and then I’ll be looking ahead to 2026, which will be a transition year for me.”

In the RP1 category, Luke Jamieson delivered a confident climb to finish 5th in the final round.

“Today’s round was absolutely fantastic, a really enjoyable route with some excellently set cruxes.

“I had a great time on the wall and I’m proud to have moved up a position going into the finals. It’s definitely a performance worth celebrating.

“Laval is in four weeks - I’m really excited to get out there and I’ll be pushing hard to try and squeeze onto the podium.”
