Castleton Litter Pick | 4th October
Come and join a friendly team of volunteers to help clean and care for our upland environment.
Join us for a day of hill walking, good company and practical conservation around Castleton and Mam Tor.
We'll meet in Castleton for a free breakfast and a hot drink before heading out for a full day on the hills, picking litter as we go. Expect a proper day outdoors — walking, chatting, eating lunch with a view and doing our bit to look after one of the UK's most visited landscapes.
No previous conservation experience needed. Just bring your boots, full hill kit, a packed lunch and a willingness to get stuck in.
Free breakfast. Hills. Litter picking. Good people. A better Peak District.
Meet in Castleton Car Park, S33 8WH, at 8:45am • Out on the hills all day • Back around 4pm
As well as collecting pollution (plastic, tins, wrappers all break down and damage our environments), we will also be surveying it to help us build evidence alongside Trash Free Trails.

Mend Our Mountains Articles
The dramatic skyline of the Great Ridge walk connects the summits of Lose Hill and Mam Tor in Derbyshire’s Hope Valley. Heavy footfall left the path in a badly eroded state and work to repair the damage to the path started in March this year, and has seen 500 metres of the most serious damage along the path repaired to protect the surrounding landscape and bordering habitat.
