Lake District Social Walk | 15th August
Come and join us for a social walk up High Raise and tick off six Wainwrights led by the BMC's Hill Walking Officer Josh.
Starting from Grasmere we will ascend Helm Crag. The only true summit that Alfred Wainwright didn’t stand upon. From here we take the ridge line over to Gibson Knott and Calf Crag before ascending to High Raise, our highest point of the day. After admiring some classic Lake District scenery, we head slightly down for ten minutes and reach our fifth Wainwright of the day, Sergeant Man. From here, it is a pleasant walk over to Blea Rigg and then down to the shores of Easedale Tarn before heading down past waterfalls back to Grasmere.
Josh has been working with the BMC for over ten years. For the past two years he has been the lead on BMC Hill Walking. Josh has had a passion for the mountains from a young age and has completed many long distance trails. He hopes to inspire the next generation to explore the mountains safely and responsibly. Please feel free to ask him any questions about the BMC or Hill Walking.
