Great Britain’s Sam Hammond delivered an outstanding performance at the IFSC European Boulder Youth Cup in Graz this past weekend, securing a silver medal in the U19 Men’s competition - his first podium finish in Boulder on the international stage.

Hammond impressed in a tightly contested final, flashing the first boulder and claiming zone holds on the remaining three problems. He finished with a score of 54.8, narrowly missing out on gold by just 0.1 points to France’s Lilian Bonniot. Austria’s Julian Schrittwieser completed the podium in third place with 54.3 points.

Reflecting on his performance, Sam said:

"I’m happy to podium after I felt like I underperformed in qualifications. I’m excited for the lead season ahead and Youth Worlds - hopefully I can get some more good results.”
