Our next meeting includes a fantastic talk from Mick Fowler. Come to our next gathering of Peak climbers and walkers and get involved in the BMC. Area Meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally
The next BMC peak area meeting will be held in person, at 7pm on Wednesday 21st Jan at Outside Cafe, Main Rd, Hathersage, Hope Valley S32 1BB
The meeting will take place in the Cafe upstairs.
Talk with Mick Fowler
Join us for a talk by Mick Fowler "Back in the Day" - come and listen to Mick recount stories from his early years. BMC patron, former Alpine Club President, Piolet d'Or winner, published author and retired taxman, Mick will be sharing stories of assorted 'memorable' (aka hair-raising) ascents over the years; featuring climbs on snow, ice, frozen turf, chalk, shale and occasionally, solid rock, in settings from from sea stacks to the mountain tops. It's free to come along! See you there.
The meeting will start at 7pm, but members are welcome to come earlier to socialise. All are welcome.

We currently have vacancies for a local Climbing Wall Rep & Clubs Rep these roles can be shared by more than one person.
We would love to encourage anyone who would like to get involved with the local area to get in touch, even if you can't commit to one of the vacant roles. We welcome anyone who wants to volunteer for the area, there is always something to do.

Rock Climbing

Mend Our Mountains Articles
The dramatic skyline of the Great Ridge walk connects the summits of Lose Hill and Mam Tor in Derbyshire’s Hope Valley. Heavy footfall left the path in a badly eroded state and work to repair the damage to the path started in March this year, and has seen 500 metres of the most serious damage along the path repaired to protect the surrounding landscape and bordering habitat.
