Aggarwal, Losey Sail, and Musson Medal in Arco at IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup
The IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup 2024 series concluded with a spectacular finale in Arco, Italy, marking the end of a competitive series that also included events in Salt Lake City, USA, and Innsbruck, Austria.
The competition saw a team of 12 athletes don the GB Climbing shirt to represent Great Britain, delivering strong performances and personal bests across the board.
For 21-year-old Lux Losey Sail, this competition marked a memorable debut for the 2024 season. Losey Sail qualified for the Men’s finals in third place and climbed to hold 33+, earning him a well-deserved spot on the podium.
In the women's RP3 category, Anita Aggarwal continued her streak of success by clinching a silver medal after topping the finals route. This achievement adds to her silver from Innsbruck in May, making it her second podium finish of the season.
Reflecting on her journey this season, Aggarwal said: "This competition season has been absolutely amazing, especially after facing some tough times. Regaining my fitness level hasn't been easy, but it was all worth it. One of the highlights was the event in Arco, where I had the chance to climb on a new wall. The competition was fierce, and I knew I had to give it my all to secure the silver.
“This has truly been my best season since I started in 2017. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the team for their incredible support this weekend – we really came together as a cohesive unit.”
Adding to the team's success, Sebastian Musson earned a bronze medal in the Men's AU2 category. This podium finish follows the 18-year-old’s silver medal performance at the IFSC Paraclimbing European Championship in Villars last month.
Jo Newton and Luke Smith also delivered commendable performances, narrowly missing the podium and finishing fourth in the Women's AL2 and Men's RP3 categories, respectively.
