BMC Midlands Area

About the Midlands Area

Welcome to the Midlands area. We have four meetings a year and welcome all. We are "doing, not talking" kind of meeting. The meetings are an open forum style where everyone has a voice and we aim to debate the issues that concern you. It's also a good way to find out about crag clean ups, and hear about any re-bolting and access work taking place.

Upcoming Midlands Area meetings

Area Meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally, and to meet like-minded people and enjoy a sociable night out (or 'in' on Zoom). Area Meetings also provide the platform for election to a range of volunteer roles within the BMC.

Midland Area Walks

BMC Midlands Hill Walk | 11th September

You are invited to join a peer-led walk, hosted by West Bromwich Mountaineering Club, with member, John Edwards, guiding the route. This social walk, which is part of the club’s annual evening program of walks and will explore an area of surviving greenery in the Black Country, before concluding with enjoying the (by the time we arrive) illuminated view of the Black Country and Birmingham, from the top of Sedgley Beacon. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable evening walk and for those who can stay on for a little while, drinks at the Beacon Hotel afterwards.
