BMC North East / Rock Solid Northumberland Youth Meet 2025

The Youth Meet weekend is to give children who predominantly climb indoors a taste of outdoor climbing in a safe and controlled environment, whilst having fun along the way.

Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July 2025.
Cost
The cost to the children attending will be £60.00. This covers two nights bed and continental breakfast, Saturday evening meal and two days climbing with qualified instructors. Plus an event T-Shirt.

Itinerary
Attendees to arrive at Wooler Hostel Friday evening 17:00 – 20:00. (Please eat before arrival.)
You need to bring packed lunches for Saturday and Sunday (Fridge storage is available.)
Saturday and Sunday will be taken up with climbing at local crags.
Returning to Wooler Hostel for collection by parents at 16:00 Sunday.
Who can come?
There are only twenty-two child places available, open to male and female aged from 11 and above based on year of birth 2014 (IFSC U13 Category) so don’t delay in getting you’re booking in, its first come first served.
All Instructors are fully qualified Rock Climbing Instructors (RCI) who have kindly given up their time to take children out on the Northumbrian crags.
Where?
Our accommodation will be at Wooler Hostel, 30 Cheviot Street, Wooler, Northumberland NE71 6LW. This is a superb facility which we have hosted BMC Youth Meets at before.
Bedding and dining facilities are provided. You need to bring indoor and outdoor clothing, wet weather clothing, wash kit with towel. And your climbing equipment.
Minimum kit to bring is your climbing harness and climbing shoes. If you have other equipment, you are welcome to bring it along. But all necessary hardware including helmets will be provided. Please name tag all your items.
