BMC Annual Report 2023
We are pleased to share our 2023 Annual Report, highlighting the breadth and depth our work.
A huge thank you to our staff, athletes, members, volunteer network, funders, partners, stakeholder and everyone involved associated with The British Mountaineering Council, we simply couldn't do it without you.
Despite the challenges the outdoor sector – and indeed the wider world – continues to face, we are phenomenally proud of what we achieved in 2023.
Inside you’ll find an open, transparent and comprehensive look back over the past 12 months (up until December 2023)
While the report brings it to life far better, highlights include:
- Membership growth, in a very difficult climate.
- New initiatives, events and partnerships designed to tackle barriers to participation.
- Continued increase in engagement, via our communication channels and digital transformation work.
- Popularity of the volunteer led area festivals, celebrating climbing, walking, history and culture.
- Continuing our tight leader and influencing work through our contribution to the ‘outdoors for all’ coalition manifesto.
- Olympic qualification for Toby Roberts, following his historic victory in Laval, France.
We encourage you to read the report and consider how you can help the BMC succeed and look forward to spreading the joy of hillwalking, climbing and mountaineering together through 2024 and beyond.
