BMC Access Network Zoom Webinar / Q&A | 'For Peat's Sake' BMC upland conservation in action

On Monday 23rd June, at 18.30 - 19.30, Steve Charles, volunteer coordinator of our Mend Our Mountain path repair days conservation volunteer days, is running a zoom webinar on how BMC volunteers are repairing footpaths, helping restore damaged upland landscapes and fighting the climate crisis.
Why are BMC volunteers knocking over cairns? Why do we want everyone to care for moss and 'for peat’s sake'? And what is really so distressing about moorland rhododendrons? Dial in to find out more and get involved.

About the BMC Access Network:
Established in 2022 to support BMC volunteers involved with our access, conservation and environmental work through monthly online seminars / Q&A sessions with expert external guest speakers on wide-ranging topics from sea eagle reintroduction, to quarrying policy & practice and the spread of ticks in the uplands. Steve's session will be #28 in the series.
About the speaker:
Steve is a recently retired eye surgeon based in South Manchester and with a passion for the hills, mountains, ski touring and upland conservation. he has been co-ordinating the BMC's Mend Our Mountains Get Stuck In Volunteer days for the last couple of years.
