About the film

For those of us who work in, play in and care deeply about the outdoors, the climate and nature crisis isn’t an abstract issue. It is already changing the places, landscapes and communities that our industry depends upon.

The film grew out of the landmark National Emergency Briefing in Westminster, where ten leading experts presented the latest evidence to more than 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, sport and the media. Now that briefing is being taken out across the country.

We want this to be an opportunity not simply to hear the evidence, but to talk honestly about what it means for our sector and the role that our industry and our community can play.

Whether you are an executive, senior leader, or founder driving the future of the outdoor recreation industries, an athlete, or an OIA member who cares about our wild spaces, we’d love you to join us. We have a good space, so you are very welcome to bring multiple members of your leadership or strategy teams to be part of the conversation.

Come along, grab a drink, meet fellow outdoor folk and settle in for a film that asks some big questions about our future in our changing climate. There are limited tickets, so grab your ticket and join us. We can’t wait to see you there!

Host your own screening

Not able to come to London? No problem. The producers of the People's Emergency Briefing want to take this vital message across the UK, bringing together people from across local communities to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond. The film brings this evidence together in a single, accessible format designed for public engagement. Screenings are intended to be followed by a facilitated discussion, for which we provide guidance and support.

Groups are hosting screenings in their local communities, in village and town halls, libraries and community cinemas. Organisations are screening it for their staff or members - encouraging them to go on to screen it in their local neighbourhoods. It will be screened at conferences and festivals.
