REGISTER FOR THE WALK

About the route

You are invited to join a peer-led walk, hosted by BMC Peak District volunteer, Anne Kemp-Eyre. We leave the village of Eyam and climb steadily onto Eyam Moor to the trig point at 429m, hopefully giving us wide‑open views across the Peak District.

Continue across the moor on open, heather‑lined paths before dropping down into Bretton Clough. From Stoke Ford, we follow the path along Abney Clough, a lovely stretch of quiet valley walking. The route leads gently up into Abney Village, a small and tranquil hamlet that makes a natural midpoint pause.

After leaving Abney, descend once more into Bretton Clough before climbing out toward Foolow - and if timing allows, a quick refreshment stop at The Bull’s Head. Finish the loop with a relaxed walk across fields back into Eyam, rounding off a route that blends moorland, valleys, and classic Peak District villages.

We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!

Now a qualified Hill & Moorland Leader, Anne has hiked in many different parts of the world - from the Alps, the Rockies and the Himalayas.

Anne’s passion is to design mindful, wellbeing focused hikes that invite people to breathe, slow their pace, and rediscover the joy of being outdoors.
