BMC Policy & Campaigns Officer (Wales)

Part-time contract, 3-day week

£19,200 payable based on 3-days per week (£32,000 per annum full-time equivalent)

The BMC is seeking a high calibre candidate for an exciting new role as Policy & Campaigns Officer for Wales. The role – which will ideally be South Wales based – will work closely with BMC staff and volunteers to promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers within the Welsh Government and key agencies including NRW and Sport Wales. The postholder will be an advocate for the BMC’s Manifesto for Wales which calls on politicians to ensure outdoor recreation and access to the coast and countryside is a key component of future public policy. The post will require an experienced policy professional or campaigner with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for climbing and hill walking.

Mae Cyngor Mynydda Prydain yn chwilio am ymgeisydd o’r radd flaenaf ar gyfer rôl newydd a chyffrous fel Swyddog Polisi ac Ymgyrchoedd i Gymru. Bydd y rôl - a fydd wedi'i lleoli yn Ne Cymru yn ddelfrydol - yn gweithio'n agos gyda staff a gwirfoddolwyr Cyngor Mynydda Prydain i hyrwyddo buddiannau dringwyr, cerddwyr bryniau a mynyddwyr o fewn Llywodraeth Cymru ac asiantaethau allweddol fel Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru a Chwaraeon Cymru. Bydd deiliad y swydd yn hyrwyddwr brwd o Faniffesto Cyngor Mynydda Prydain ar gyfer Cymru sy’n galw ar wleidyddion i sicrhau bod hamdden awyr agored a mynediad i'r arfordir a chefn gwlad yn elfen allweddol o bolisi cyhoeddus y dyfodol. Bydd y swydd yn gofyn am weithiwr polisi proffesiynol neu ymgyrchydd profiadol sydd â sgiliau cyfathrebu gwych ac angerdd gwirioneddol am ddringo a cherdded bryniau.
