Shauna Coxsey takes bouldering bronze in Slovenia

Posted by Tina Gardner on 13/05/2013

Great Britain's Shauna Coxsey continued her great form by getting on the podium again in the fourth IFSC Bouldering World Cup competition of the season.

The Slovenian city of Log Dragomer hosted the competition on 11-12 May, accompanied by live music and an enthusiastic Slovenian crowd.

In the women's, Austria's highflyer and doubleworld champion Anna Stöhr continued her wave of success and walked away with the fourth gold medal this year.  Shauna's bronze topped off some great performances from the whole GB team. Other results were Mina Leslie- Wujastyk 14th, Leah Crane 17th, Michaela Tracy 27th and Dianne Merrick 31st.

In the men's, Canada's Sean McColl took his first gold medal in a Bouldering World Cup competition. Great Britain's Dave Barrans took an impressive 8th place, with Tom Newman 35th, Ben West 49th and Jonathan Partridge 53rd.

The next stop on the IFSC competition calendar will bring the athletes back to Austria. Tyrol Innsbruck will host the world’s best bouldering athletes on 17-18 May.

The Senior British Bouldering Team is supported by Sherpa Adventure Gear and Lonsdale China.
