From Horseshoe to Harpur Hill: Guide now out

Posted by on 15/07/2004

This is a new guidebook for the great number of mid-grade sport climbs in the Buxton and Matlock areas of the Peak District.

With more and more people operating in the middle grades- from F5 to F7a, the need for information on these routes has never been greater. This is a guide to the best concentrations of these climbs, detailing almost 750 climbs and 15 crags, all within the abilities of a great number of climbers. Richly illustrated with photo-topos, maps and action photos, this guide also contains a comprehensive graded list and first ascent details. Written and researched by the area’s leading activist, and with input from all the key players, this guide gives the most complete and most accurate record of sport climbs in the area.

It brings to life a whole new array of climbs that have never been presented in proper guide book form before, and is guaranteed to guide and inspire all mid-grade sport climbers who climb in the Peak District. Crags covered are Horseshoe Quarry, Hall Dale Quarry, Cawdor Quarry, Crag X, Deep Dale, Lorry Park Quarry, Slaley Brook, Intake Quarry, Devonshire Buttress, Blatant Buttress, Blackwell Halt, Deep Dale, Smalldale and Harpur Hill.
