Area Climbing Wall Rep
What does a BMC Climbing Wall Rep do?
A BMC local area climbing wall rep acts as a point of contact between the BMC and climbing walls and to engage with other climbers and help promote the BMC and what it does.
Key tasks and responsibilities of the role
- Share wall events and initiatives with the BMC through the Area Meetings, liaising with BMC staff and utilising the area Facebook and Instagram page.
- Engage with wall managers and communities to promote BMC membership and events, initiating opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

- Climbers with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to engage with people of all backgrounds.
- Regularly climb indoors at walls in their area and have a good knowledge of the indoor climbing communities there.
- A broad range of climbing experience is useful but not essential
- Enthusiasm and an understanding of the needs of indoor participants in the local area would be useful
- Ability to engage with social media useful but not essential
In person at your local walls, attendance at the local area meetings either in person or online (4 a year). If unable to attend be able to provide feedback to the area meetings.
This role is flexible, and you can give as little or as much time as appropriate but if you are climbing regularly indoors it would be great if you took some time to engage with the other climbers about the BMC
