The BMC British Bouldering Championships returns to centre stage, right in the heart of Sheffield city centre at Devonshire Green, on 8-9 July. Enter now and test your mettle alongside some of the UK's best talent in this senior-only, IFSC Boulder World Cup style event spread over Saturday and Sunday.
The pivotal event of every boulderers calendar since 1998, the British Bouldering Championships (BBCs) is organised by the BMC, forms the national championships in the UK, and counts towards selection for the Senior British Bouldering Team. It's a fun and serious event that anybody wishing to experience World Cup style competitions can have a go at, providing you're born no later than 2001. Sign up below or keep reading to find out more.
The Senior Bouldering Team is supported by the Arch Climbing Wall and Berghaus.
Format for 2017
Set to take place on Devonshire Green, the BBCs is free to watch and will be extended into the evening to take advantage of the warm weather. There will be live music on both Friday and Saturday night and the competition wall will be surrounded by food and drink stalls, a special BMC member VIP area and lots of other attractions – it's going to be a fantastic weekend of competition and entertainment.
On Sunday 9 July, between the semi-finals and finals of the BBCs, we will have live music and a 'come and have a go' traverse along the entire length of the BBC's competition wall, with prizes available at various points along the traverse. This will be open to the public on a first come first served basis. Further details to follow.
