Saturday 22 February saw 128 competitors arrive at Awesome Walls Sheffield to battle it out at the first Lead competition of the season!

The competitors were challenged by two qualification routes, with the top climbers in each category heading to isolation for the final challenge.

The setting team was led by chief route setter Max Ayrton (ex-GB Senior team), Alex Fry (Setting Legend), Gavin Symonds (Technical Master) and Simon Rawlinson (IronMan). Providing challenges across the entire centre, they succeeded in testing the skills of the competitors with technical routes and utilising the steepnees of Awesome Walls to the max!

We head to Manchester next for the Junior British Bouldering Championships on 4 April. Register here.
