The September newsletter from the independent BMC Organisational Review Group, featuring the timeline for publication of the finished report and the winners of the survey prize-draw!

We have now received all of the results from the members’ survey and all the data has been summarised in a written report. The feedback from the survey and the focus groups has revealed a general consensus of opinion, within the membership, which has assisted us to properly consider the key issues which we have been considering.

The Organisational Review Group (ORG) presented an update to the September National Council meeting on its Independent review of the BMC’s governance and organisational structure.

The ORG has now been able to balance the views of members and partners against the relevant information on best practice in sporting organisational structures and modern codes of governance. We are now in a position to draft our recommendations and report with a view to publication in November 2017.

Timeline for publication

27 September 2017: The ORG had a full day meeting to finalise our response on key issues.

Throughout October: We will draft the report and recommendations.

31 October 2017: The ORG has a full day meeting arranged in London.

16 November 2017: The report will be presented to the Exec. and National Council.

17/18 November 2017: The report will be launched to the membership and partners at the BMC Kendal Festival. There will also be publication by email and social media: Facebook/Twitter/Instagram.

Throughout November 2017 there will be further presentations to area committees and any relevant feedback can be fine-tuned into our report.

We believe that we have conducted the process, with which we were tasked, objectively, dispassionately and independently. We also believe that if you, the members, adopt our proposals then the BMC will have a bright future.

Survey winners!

Everyone that responded to the membership survey was automatically entered into a prize-draw to win one of three £100 cheques. We can now confirm all three cheques for prizewinners are now despatched, and the lucky winners are:

Mr I P  of Gloucester

Ms L M of London

Ms J C of Sheffield

Congrats to all three and thanks to everyone that gave their feedback.
