Come along, have your say, have a climb, have your dinner and then dance! Every year the BMC hosts a weekend get-together based around its AGM and 2014 will be extra special as it our 70th anniversary year.

For 2014 we’re heading south. The Isle of Portland, on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, is a unique location offering lots of adventure for walkers, climbers and general explorers.  It will be a packed weekend, including talks, masterclasses, dinner and celebrity speakers.  The AGM takes place at 10.30 am on Saturday 26 April at the Heights Hotel (our main base for the weekend).  The rest of the day is free to boulder, sport climb, trad climb, walk the Round Island coast path as well as enjoy being beside the seaside.

Friday 25 April

From 8.30 pm:  Portland briefing - Portland Coastal Ranger team
From 9.00 pm:  Talk by James McHaffie (from the Indian Face to Patagonia)

Saturday 26 April

8.45 – 10.15 am: AGM registration
Registration is mandatory for all members wishing to vote on any of the agenda items.  If you or your club members can’t attend the AGM in person you can use the proxy voting form (enclosed in Summit 73) to allow another member to vote on your behalf.  Proxy voting explained here.

9.45 – 10.15 am: Open question and answer session.  If you have something you’d like to discuss with the BMC Directors or Officers, then this is your chance.

10.30 am: BMC AGM starts
