Nick Bullock and Tim Emmett have climbed the magnificent La Lyre, the legendary 500m high Thierry Renault ice route at the Cirque Fer a Cheval above Sixt. In the mid-to-late 1990s La Lyre, graded WI 7, was considered one of the hardest ice climbs in the World. Read more »
The 16th Piolet d’Or award has been won by the Slovenian duo Boris Lorencic and Marko Prezelj for their first ascent of the 6,000-foot Northwest Pillar on the 24,000 ft Tibetan Peak Chomo Lhari. This is a second time win for Prezelj, having previously won the inaugural award in 1991. Read more »
