BMC calls for immediate end to the illegal killing of birds of prey

Unregulated driven grouse moor shooting results in the illegal killing of birds of prey, the persecution of mountain hares, and the damage to upland peatland habitats is contributing to climate change. Now, the BMC wants to see driven grouse shooting regulated and for government to strengthen and enforce legislation to stop the illegal killing of raptors.

Peak Bolt Fund volunteers help install bolted anchors at BMC owned Aldery Cliff

Following an uncertain few years, work has recently taken place at Aldery to replace the tree lower offs removed in 2017 with bolt lower offs, in a collaboration between BMC volunteers, staff and volunteers from the Peak Bolt Fund.

Snowdon: new parking restrictions

Following chaotic parking scenes in the Llanberis Pass over the last weekend, when over 500 cars were parked illegally at Pen y Pass, blocking one of the main roads through Snowdonia for several hours, the National Park and North Wales Police have issued this statement with new traffic management and restricted parking in place from July 25th.

Temporary restriction of climbing at Eridge Rocks

Wales: the lockdown eases

Welsh Government has announced that from Monday July 6th unlimited travel for all purposes is now allowed throughout Wales. This also includes travel to Wales from England and that all the closed areas of National Parks and other beauty spots will be open from that day.
