Check out the latest additions to the BMC online shop, including new walking and climbing guides, and maps.

What’s New
Over The Moors
is the new BMC Definitive Climbers’ Guide to Moorland Gritstone; bringing the same superb quality established by recent BMC guidebooks to the crags of the wild upland moors of  Kinder, Bleaklow, Chew and Marsden. The recently developed Fairy Caves Quarry has rapidly gained popularity, and is now Somerset’s Mecca for 'trad' slab climbing. These slabs, which reach a height of 40 metres, provide excellent, solid climbing, free from pegs and other fixed gear. South West Climbs: Volume 1 covers some of the superb climbing on the south-west peninsula of England, including Avon and Cheddar Gorges, Wye Valley and Dorset. Wye Valley Supplement 2012 attempts to pull together all developments since the publication of the three definitive guides to the Wye Valley area starting back in 2007. Four new crags: Mounton Valley Rocks, near Chepstow; Plumweir Cliff above Shorn Cliff, and Bailey Quarry and the Celestial Walls near Symonds Yat are also included.

From the Dark Peak of Derbyshire to the misty Malverns in Worcestershire and Milk Hill on the Mid-Wilts Way, Walking the County High Points of England provides the perfect opportunity for ramblers to experience the English countryside. Exmoor & North Devon Coast Path covers the first section of the South West Coast Path, from Minehead to Bude. This practical guide includes over 50 large scale (1:20,000) maps, and information on accommodation guide, dining and public transport information. With dramatic mountain ridges towering over the moorland of its northern half, and a lusher, softer landscape in the south, Arran is often dubbed as Scotland in Miniature; Arran: 40 Favourite Walks contains a selection of the best walks on the island. Ramble On is both a biography of Britain's favourite outdoor pursuit and a celebration of our wonderful countryside. It tells story of how country walks and rambling were transformed from a small and often illegal pastime to the most popular recreational activity in the country.

Chamonix Mountain Adventures is a handy guidebook to mountain activities based in Chamonix in the French Alps. There are selections of graded routes described for walking, trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, road cycling, via ferratas, rock climbing and bouldering, with clear advice for novices for each activity. Ferrate a Cortina describes 24 via ferrata routes in the Cortina area of the Italian Dolomites, accompanied by full photographs and topos; text in English, German and Italian. Schweiz Plaisir Selection is a selected guidebook to some of the best rock routes in the Alps. Areas covered include: Dauphine; Haute Savoie; Valle d'Aosta; Bernese Oberland; Central and NE Switzerland: Tessin; and Bergell. Text in English, French and German, with drawn topos.

Mountain Bike in Val di Fassa describes 18 mountain bike routes in the heart of the Dolomites; English text with easy to follow maps and colour photographs.

The Medium Nepal Country Route Planner is a 1:850,000 overview map of Nepal covering the Great Himalaya Trail and National Parks, with towns, roads and rivers shown. It’s a very handy sized map, containing lots of information, and is the perfect planning tool for any trip to Nepal.

Straight Up: Himalayan Tales of the Unexpected is a collection of stories by Steve Berry, recounting his early expeditions to the Himalaya prior to 1987, including encounters with bears, escapes from avalanches, summit successes and failures, love stories, mystical connections, and grapples with bureaucracy.
