The British Bouldering Team had their first Team Training of 2010 when they met at Climbing Works in Sheffield on the 13th February 2010. The previous planned training session in January had to be cancelled due to the weather conditions.

Saturday involved members of the Team and Squad completing a variety of power, strength and power endurance based fitness tests. The tests involved the use of campus boards, finger boards, system board, pull up bars and a rowing machine.

The results of the testing will be compared with the original test results completed at the start of the pre-season training in September 2009. The results of this will be used to asses gains made so far in the pre-season training.

Dominic White MSc (Sports Scientist) also gave an overview of the current phase of training which involves improving Power Endurance. The Team are due to start the Comp Specific phase of training when they meet for their next Team Training over the weekend 26th-28th February 2010

The Team and Squad would like to thank all of the management and staff of the Climbing Works for their continued support.

You hear that? It's the sound of sweaty hands chalking up as young guns and canny veterans alike prepare for the British Bouldering Championships 2023. It's an open field this year as neither of reigning champions will be competing. So the big question remains: who will be taking home the title of British Champion in Sheffield on 2 July?
