Two more Blackpool towers

Posted by on 23/05/2006

Blackpool's Central Gateway will be offically opened to the public this weekend, providing a recreational area complete with two climbing towers and a bouldering wall.

On Saturday (27 May) members of the British Bouldering Team will be doing some climbing demos and workshops. You can expect to see the likes of Andy Earl (men's British Bouldering Champion) and Gareth Parry (men's British Indoor Climbing Champion). The climbing demonstrations and coaching workshops will take place between 10am and 4pm. The workshops start at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and will last an hour. Former European Climbing Champion Ian Vickers was involved with the design of the climbing towers. For further informational about the Central Gateway project see the Blackpool Council website.
