Shooters Nab – it’s all good

Shooters Nab

The BMC is pleased to announce that from Friday 28th May, the majority of this West Yorkshire grit crag will be available to climbers at any time.

A collaborative effort between Sue Smith (Access Officer, PDNPA), Peter Sutcliffe (Secretary, Lydgate Rifle & Pistol Club) and Guy Keating (Access Officer, BMC) reassessed the modern ‘fall of shot’ safety zone, the net result means all routes/bouldering on The Rostrum and areas to the right are outside the new zone. This part of the crag is now Open Access land (without restrictions) and can be accessed at any time.

The remainder of the crag (left of The Rostrum & the descent) is within the ‘fall of shot’ zone and can ONLY be accessed during the agreed times and dates - after 6pm on Friday evenings and on the 2010 agreed weekend days: 22 May; 12 June; 4, 11 & 25 Sept; 2 October.

See the RAD for full details and keep an eye open for onsite signage.

Enjoy.
