The search for intelligent light is over. Petzl have just launched their very clever NAO headtorch and, thanks to this competition from UK distributor Lyon Equipment, you can be one of the first in the UK to strap this exciting new technology to your head.

The NAO is the new Petzl headtorch with Reactive Lighting technology. This is the first headlamp that automatically adjusts brightness and beam pattern with its two high-power LEDs to meet users’ lighting needs.

The headlamp adjusts seamlessly, instantly and imperceptibly (with a range from 7 lumens to 355 lumens), so that you can concentrate on the activity at hand.

It’s perfect for fell running, hiking, climbing or skiing at night, or any activity where you need to move quickly hands free. There’s no need to stop and fiddle with lighting settings or levels: just turn the NAO on and go.

It comes pre-programmed with two reactive lighting levels, with light output and burn times preselected to work for most activities. To get the most out of the NAO, users can also download free software by Petzl software to fine-tune the optimal brightness, burn times and beam-length for specific activities.

As the NAO won’t output too much or too little light, the headlamp also uses the energy stored in its rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery as efficiently as possible, giving increased burn times.
