Stay safe in the mountains this summer.

The Outdoor Club Seminar is a new event organised by the University of Manchester Hiking Club, in association with the British Mountaineering Council and the University of Manchester Students’ Union. Taking place on 11 May, it looks to share knowledge on staying safe in the mountains.

The event will feature lectures, group discussions and practical aspects alongside ample time to socialise and network with student and non-student clubs in the North West.

Topics covered include:

  • Preparation for your time on the hill
  • Key skills and how to acquire them
  • Assessing risk
  • Outdoor hazards and good practice
  • Coping with the unexpected in the outdoors

Venue and Date
The seminar will be held at Academy 2, The University of Manchester on the 11 May from 10am-4pm.

Cost
Tickets cost £5 or £2.50 for concessions and should be booked in advance from Manchester Students' Union.

Travel

Manchester University has excellent transport links,  and is easily accessible by public transport.
