Latest online news from the Peak Area

Stanage - a hot topic at recent BMC Peak Area Meetings.

The November 2013 issue of the BMC Peak Area newsletter is now online, keeping you informed about what’s happening in the region.

In this issue: Henry Folkard provides the latest update on plans for the management of the North Lees estate (Stanage, to you and me), as well as various projects funded by the Dark Peak Nature Improvement Area, and ongoing access issues in the White Peak. There’s also an excerpt from the soon-to-be-published Peak Rock, the history of cutting edge Peak District climbing.

The next Peak Area Meeting is on Wednesday 20 November 2013, starting at 7.30pm, at The Maynard, Main Road, Grindleford, Derbyshire, S32 2HE.

It’s also the Area AGM, so if you’re interested in standing for any local area positions, make sure you attend.

The meeting will include the legendary annual quiz, with loads of fantastic prizes up for grabs.

Free supper provided by the BMC.

See the BMC Local Areas site for more details
