Damage to gritstone crags in Lancashire

Posted by Guy Keating on 19/08/2002

Idiotic devastation by crampon wielding types in Lancashire…

…at Cadshaw Castle Rocks and White House Quarry. Scratches, flakes snapped off - frankly words fail me.

There's enough outcry when people try and climb on scottish winter crags in winter when there's not enough snow/ice coverage. Why anyone is stupid enough to do it on grit in the middle of summer is beyond me!

Put simply, just don't do it.
