Safety notice issued by Edelrid for Mega Jul belay device

Posted by Daniel Middleton on 03/01/2024
Check your Edelrid Mega Jul for defects

Edelrid have asked owners and users of their popular Mega Jul belay device to make a precautionary check for a defective attachment loop, for devices regardless of manufacturing batch. This updates a previous warning which covered a specific batch.

Edelrid have identified a potential issue with Mega Jul devices in which a defect can result in reduced strength of the metal loop which is used to attach the device when belaying a second in direct or guide mode.

Edelrid are asking all users and owners of the Mega Jul to check any devices for potential defects using a visual inspection.
