The BMC has recently conducted an access survey in which we posed a series of questions about the types of recreational activities members are currently undertaking outdoors and what the future of access legislation might look like.

The BMC has a role as a leader in the outdoor sector to set positive examples of management and conservation within this area. This policy includes the implementation of practices to reduce landfill waste, increase recycling, conserve energy and reduce the use of natural resources. Accordingly, the BMC will purchase products, supplies, and services that further this goal with a preference for recycled, remanufactured and environmentally sensitive products and services.
This booklet contains essential information on the mountain environment and how BMC members can do their best to care for the fragile upland landscape.
42 leading national governing bodies and environmental organisations have signed up to support a manifesto, seeking to extend responsible access to more green and blue spaces. The Outdoors For All coalition is calling for new legislation to open up more of our countryside, including waterways, woodland, riversides and downland for public enjoyment.
