Climbers and National Trust work together to re-vitalise Brimham Rocks

BMC volunteer and uber-keen Yorkshire climber Paul Clarke recently raised the issue of trees encroaching on a number of buttresses and boulders at Brimham Rocks with the BMC access team. Thanks to his great local knowledge and enthusiasm, not to mention invaluable help from the National Trust ranger team who manage the site, a climber's work day took place last weekend to open up some of the climbing areas. Making Cheddar Beddar: the Gorge gets a spruce up

30 climbers gathered together to rid Cheddar Gorge of as much of its litter as possible on 15 September, for what is to now become an annual climbers' clean up. The project was organised by two local climbers and long-term Cheddar enthusiasts Tom Powell and Eddy Cool, simply because they wanted to look after the place they love and to display the kindness and gratitude of the climbing community.

Dirty work brings clean climbing to Crag Lough

On Saturday 13 September a team of dedicated volunteers armed with their climbing gear, trowels and patio knives made their way to Crag Lough, Northumberland for the third annual clean-up event, to continue the sterling work of the previous two years.
