Lorry Park Quarry

Peak Limestone

Lorry Park Quarry gives a small concentration of difficult sport climbs on slightly overhanging walls, together with a handful of very well-formed crack climbs. It is set in the grounds of the old Tarmac offices which leaves it with a somewhat earthy ambience, although trees do allow the climber to ignore this somewhat.

Parking and Approach

Coming out of Matlock on the A6 travelling south, pass under a railway bridge. One hundred metres after this are some new houses on the right and then the entrance to a quarry which has been fenced off. Park in the Artist’s Corner Pay & Display as for Pic Tor. Cross the road. A gap alongside the fence allows access to a muddy track which eventually leads up to the right-hand side of the quarried wall. Please be courteous to residents here, either official or non-official.
