Lorry Park Quarry has an excellent concentration of difficult sport climbs on solid stable overhanging walls, together with a handful of well-formed crack climbs, also bolted.

Crag information

Construction works are currently ongoing as part of a housing development. These include rock works which are expected to affect some climbs. Understandably the construction company has requested that climbers stay out of the construction site for safety reasons. The BMC have requested discussions regarding future access. Update to follow.

Parking and Approach

Coming out of Matlock on the A6 travelling south, pass under a railway bridge. One hundred metres after this are some new houses on the right and then the entrance to a quarry which has been fenced off. Park in the Artist’s Corner Pay & Display as for Pic Tor. Cross the road. A gap alongside the fence allows access to a muddy track which eventually leads up to the right-hand side of the quarried wall. Please be courteous to residents here, either official or non-official.
