Hunter's Stones

Yorkshire Gritstone

Hunter's Stones is a collection of boulders in Stainburn forest, not far from Almscliff in North Yorkshire. The biggest boulder is under the trig point. The best climbing here is in the higher grades with Wavelength, Hunter's Roof, and the problems on the X-Wall being of excellent quality. However, there is a good circuit of easier problems here which stay clean and are well worth a visit. At any grade, the pebbly nature of the rock is not for those who are thin of skin!
