Update June 2018 Kestrels are nesting in a hole between the routes Black Wall and Inch Pinch. Climbers are advised to avoid all of Trial Wall until the end of July or until the birds fledge. Please note that all wild birds are protected while in or near a nest and it is an offence to disturb any wild bird while it is building a nest or is in or near a nest containing eggs or young.
The National Trust deemed that a seasonal restriction of the whole of Trial Wall was required until the birds fully fledged. Further discussion took place with the NT to determine the extent of future restrictions here. and there will have on-site signage istating the extent of the restriction.
This restriction is in place for 2018 and as there are currently young chicks on the nest the NT have now requested that climbers avoid climbing on the whole of Trial Wall until the birds fledge.
