Thimbleby Crag

North York Moors

Hidden up in the woods behind Over Silton village. Takes a few days to dry out after wet weather. Advisable to abseil chosen routes to clean before climbing. All have been done above mats but would make nice leads although cams would be useful. Mostly good landings.

Parking and Approach

Park either in Over Silton village or at the quarry a bit further up the road. Take the main forest track north east for about a mile to a crossroads at the top. Take the third track on the left & after about 100m take a small path left to a rock & popular viewpoint. Go right through the overgrown path where the crag is about 50m.
