Located just behind the Odeon Cinema in Mansfield, this is a fine wall of Mansfield White Sandstone. It's still magnesian limestone but a compact sandy one. Whilst not extensive and with a definite urban feel, the rock and problems are high on quality. They are also high in nature so its worth bringing a few pads

Parking and Approach
Parking is available within the shopping and entertainment complex that the Quarry backs on to. There is no know access issues, but this is an old quarry owned by one of the existing Mansfield quarrying companies, so is on private land. The Quarry is very urban in nature and is surrounded by houses and business, which does lead to this venue being used by a wide section of the general public, inc. wineos and addicts, so please be careful of the discarded needles that may sometimes be lying around in the Quarry basin.Access from the car park could not be easier. From the back of the car park in between the bingo hall and the Odeon cinema follow the footpath that runs down the hill to a T junction and the River Maun. Turn left and follow the path up hill until a X roads is reached. Here turn left and go through the tunnel and follow the path through the trees until you emerge into the quarry basin. Now turn left so that you are walking back towards the Cinema and when you come across some large blocks with graffiti on, the first buttress can be found at the back of the jungle mass that is trees and brambles. Carrying on in the quarry other buttresses can be sought out if you have time.
