The below text is from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust information board:
"Brockadale Nature Reserve (SSSI site of special scientific interest) is really fragile and so protected for its wildlife – from rare snails and plants to precious birds of prey.
This crag is home to numerous important species, many of which are not easily noticed.
We are now at the most sensitive time of year, birds are nesting, plants are establishing growth and most animals are looking for security to breed.
Climbing on this rock face damages this life.
Please help us look after this vulnerable and beautiful place by not climbing."
Parking and Approach
Good access from free Brockadale Nature Reserve car park on Leys Lane to the north of the crag. Take the footpath from the car park and turn left at the end, follow the path go through the gate and the top of the crag is on the right. The best descent is possible to continue through the next gate, pick a line down through the woods to the right, and follow a vague path back along the foot of the crag.
