Compton Hill Cliff

Avon and Somerset

A small cliff overlooking the village of Barton.Mostly covered in thick Ivy.At the foot of a gully in the centre of the cliff is a small cave which 1500 years ago was a Wolf Den(the remains of the wolves and their prey can be seen in Wells Museum). As the cliff is North Facing and exposed to the weather it can be a good place for winter climbing practice.
