Clogwyn y Fulfran (Cormorant Rock)

Clogwyn Y Fulfan, with its idyllic setting offers a few short routes on good rock. It can be approached from the Nant Gwynant campsite from the northen end of the lake in about 10-15min or from Craig Penmaen Brith in about 5-10min. The crag faces east and catches the morning sun.Routes from Vs-E5.The first 5 routes take the steep slabby face on the left side of the rock.The next 5 routes are on the right hand side on the steep walls crossed by overhangs at half height.Inbetween these 2 areas is central ledgy area mainly used for jumping or diving into the 30m deep water!A low level deep water solo esq traverse is possible from either direction.

Area information

A wide range of cliffs - mainly traditional and multi pitch inc. the popular Llanberis Pass, Idwal Slabs, Clogwyn du'r Arddu and Cwm Silyn cliffs, but also outlying outcrops such as Carreg Alltrem. Many crags are on CROW access land - but not all especially some of the outcrops which lie on private enclosed land. Most of central Snowdonia is both designated an SSSI and also is an European Special Area of Conservation on account of the upland habitat and associated geology and plants found here.
