Michaelston-le-pit

South East Wales

A small limestone quarry in a Woodland Trust Nature Reserve, close to Dinas Powis, some 15 minutes drive from Cardiff. Due to sensitive conservation reasons climbing is not allowed at this site.

Then owners (The Woodland Trust) maange the site as a woodland nature reserve, and the rock face is known to be important for several species nationally rare and scarce ferns, which grow in crevices on the rock face itself. There is also thought to be a peregrine nesting site at this venue. For these reasons climbing is not allowed at this venue.
