Winter International Meet finale

Thursday. Conditions today were excellent and most guests and hosts chose to go on the Ben. Everyone had a great day and some amazing routes were done.

Some of the routes done today include

  • Tower ridge IV 4 
  • Wedigo IV 4
  • Morwind III 4
  • Gargoyle VI 6
  • Diana V 5
  • JP is Back IV 5
  • Cascade IV 5
  • Indicator Wall (Rght Hand) V 5 
  • Es Tressider and Paul Sab (Germany) did Stringfellow VI 6
  • Freddie Wilkinson (USA) and Rok Zalokar (Slovenia) did 3rd ascent of Sioux Wall VIII 8 including the upper pitches.  (photo Viv Scott)
  • Albatros VI 5
  • Darth Vader VII 8
  • Stu MacAleese and Tomaz Jakofcic (Slovenia) did Cornercoupia VII 9
  • Dave MacLeod, Hiroyoshi Manome and Katsutaka Yokoyama (both Japan) did a new route on the Comb above the Good Groove graded VIII 8.  A great present for Hiroyoshi who celebrates his birthday today!
  •  Viv Scott and Domagoj Bojko (Croatia) did a new route VIII 8 that takes the obvious hanging chimney just left of South Sea Bubble Viv has provisionally named the route Salva Mea. 
  • Ian Parnell and Sean Isaac (Canada) did a new line based around the line of Last Stand on the Sioux Wall and provisionally named it Curly's Arete  VIII 8
