If you don't do anything else this month then why not watch our experimental Xmas/New Years film. It's just five minutes long, on both YouTube and UKClimbing, and gives a great introduction to the work of the BMC.
A big thanks to all who supported us over the last year and made our work for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers possible. But if you're not a current member - or know someone who'd like to join - then why not take a look at our fantastic new Direct Debit offer? Join in the next two months and we'll give you 50% off Individual Membership, so it's just £14.75. What a great start to the year.
Wishing you a happy and active 2008.
Dave Turnbull, BMC CEO
As an experiment UK Climbing and outdoor cameraman Alastair Lee have produced a 4-5 minute film about the BMC's work over 2007. It didn't threaten the Queen's Xmas Day broadcast ratings, but it does give a great snapshot of what the BMC's all about these days.
BMC Vice-President Pat Littlejohn has been awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours list for services to Mountaineering.
The BMC has produced a new guide to crag and habitat management, which gives essential guidance for people wanting to restore the climbing at their favourite crag without damaging its wildlife features.
Welcome to the BMC beginners' guide to climbing walls, showing you everything you need to know to get you through your first visit to your local climbing wall.
