Back for 2022, the Crag Clean Up is a simple event designed to include as much fun as possible whilst also helping to clean up the Peak, and will be held on Saturday 13 August.
How the Crag Clean Up 2022 works
Every year Outside runs a crag clean up based on a very simple idea. Shop staff head out to pick litter all over the Peak District, from crags, footpaths, beauty spots and laybys. Friends, family and customers are3 kindly asked to help with this, during their own day out on the hill. The shop thanks everyone who arrives at the shop toting a bag of rubbish by hosting a free BBQ, with beers and soft drinks, outside the shop in the afternoon and into the evening; plus, there are spot prizes awarded by our sponsors.
Outside provides bin bags and gloves from the shop (or you can bring your own from home), and while you are out on your adventures that day, simply collect what you can and bring it back to the shop to be added to the pile, and you enjoy the food, drink and merriment, and maybe even win a prize. The local council collects it all on Monday morning for safe disposal.
Crag Clean Up - Timetable
9:30am: Shop and cafe opens, please call in to collect bags and gloves (or bring your own).
Throughout the day: Add your swag to the pile at the shop.
5:00pm: BBQ and refreshments begin.
6:00pm: shop closes, spot prizes awarded shortly after.
