BMC Implementation Group Update
The group set up by the National Council to provide an oversight of work required to take forward organisational change in the BMC has published a report (attached) outlining the group’s principles and how it will undertake its work in consultation with BMC members.
Guest speaker: Alex Roddie
After main business we'll have a talk by writer and exponent of long-distance, wilderness journeys and ultralight backpacking, Alex Roddie.
Alex started out along the familiar pattern of progression: hillwalking and backpacking to rock climbing, Scottish winter climbing and alpinism. But a change in direction eight years ago led to a renewed focus on long-distance, wilderness journeys, often in challenging alpine environments. Alex will be talking about how he found his way to ultralight backpacking the long way round – and the lessons he learned from alpine and winter climbing along the way.
