Sign up with the Friends of the Lake District for a day of volunteering activities in Wasdale on Saturday 4 July and help to protect Cumbria’s amazing landscapes for future generations.
Wasdale boasts the highest mountain – Scafell Pike - and the deepest lake– Wastwater - in England and has some of the most wild and dramatic landscapes. It’s also been voted Britain’s best view.
The Wasdale Fell Care Day offers an opportunity to get involved in caring for this spectacular landscape through a choice of practical conservation and learning activities. Try your hand at some upland path maintenance on the high fells with Fix the Fells; join the Scafell Pike litter pick on foot or the Wastwater litter pick by canoe. Have a go at dry-stone walling or rhododendron bashing or bridge building. There’s an activity to suit everyone and, as always with Fell Care Days, lots of cake to fuel you through your tasks. It’s a chance to make new friends and make a difference.
For more information and to sign up to an activity, visit the Friends of the Lake District website
Wasdale Fell Care Day is a free event.
