Get ready! As spring comes into full bloom, around the climbing world athletes and fans are drawing breath and frothing with excitement ahead of the upcoming 2022 IFSC World Cup season.

The weekend of 8-10 April we travel to Switzerland where, nestling in the Alpine cradle of the Bernese Oberland, the village of Meiringen hosts the first bouldering event of the season. The competition cobwebs have been dusted down and athletes are ready to unleash on the Swiss stage in front of audiences, both familiar and new.

A psyched team of ten GB Climbing athletes will be in attendance. In the men’s lineup we have Billy Ridal, Hamish McArthur, Nathan Phillips, Alex Waterhouse and Max Milne; on the women’s side, Molly Thompson-Smith, Emily Phillips, Hannah Slaney, Holly Toothill and Jen Wood.

In late March the IFSC signed a deal with the broadcaster Discovery Sports giving them exclusive rights to live IFSC World Cup events (this applies to Europe and South America only). All 14 events will appear live on discovery+ or Eurosport, which are subscription-only channels. Events will be broadcast on the IFSC’s Olympic channel, 24 hours after each semi-final and final round.
