We're getting ready for Women's Sport Week 2017. Find out how you can get involved.

What is Women's Sport Week?

A national celebration of women’s sport and physical activity organised by Women in Sport. During the week a wide range of activities take place from events where female participants can try something new, to events that celebrate womens achievement’s within sport and physical activity. Womens Sport Week is an opportunity to showcase women’s sport at all levels, from grassroots through to eilte performers.

The BMC are supporting some events that are taking place during Womens Sport Week 2017.

We want to celebrate what you're doing during Womens Sport Week. Use the hashtags #WSW2017 and #thisgirlcanclimb to share your climbing, hill walking, scrambling and mountaineering photo's between 19-25th June with @TGCClimbing. We'll randomly pick a winner and send some lovely BMC prizes your way.

What's happening during the week?

We've teamed up with Nottingham Girls Can and Lianne Harrold to bring a week filled with climbing activity. You can find out more about Lianne on Instagram, and look out for her new website launching during Womens Sport Week.

Nottingham Climbing Centre are offering taster sessions for women to try climbing and bouldering throughout the week, all for a bargain price.

The Depot Nottingham are holding some taster bouldering sessions perfect for those who would like to try bouldering for the first time.

Ready to Rock: This Girl Can

The BMC are running some outdoor climbing sessions aimed at those who may already climbing indoors but would like to try climbing outdoors. There are a couple of sessions dureing women sport week, but if those dates dont work for you check out our other dates.

Monday 19th June - An evening bouldering session for those who climb indoors, and have tried climbing outdoors a couple of times. Athe session will take place at Burbage South which is within a hours drive from Sheffield, so a perfect way to spend a Monday evening.

Saturday 24th June - Beginners top rope session for indoor climbers who'd like to try climbing outdoors. There's a choice of either the morning or the afternoon sessions at Hutton Roof.

The BMC TV Women in Adventure Film Competition is back and accepting submissions for 2022. So dive in, if you have a story to tell or a cause to share it's time to do so!

We want to see your adventures captured on film and keep the cycle of inspiration rolling as we head into the eighth year of the competition, supported by Montane.
