Join a women's climbing meet in Arco this August

Posted by Irmgard Braun on 31/05/2013
Arco, north Italy, famous for Rockmasters climbing competition

Would you like to climb in Arco this August with other female climbers from all over Europe? If yes, the RHM (Rendez-Vous Hautes Montagnes) women’s climbing meet could be for you.

The name RHM is a little misleading.  A meeting of women alpine climbers founded RHM in 1968 and from then the regular meetings developed, at which sport climbing plays a large part.

Most participants prefer well-protected long routes in the grade range 6 to 7.  Many travel alone and use the opportunity to get to know new climbing partners.  There are always a few male partners, but the main thing here is that women climb together and mountaineer together.

The event is not commercial and is not organised by any club; each participant is responsible for planning her own activities, even if locals gladly give a few tips.

The meet is open to independent women climbers who plan and lead routes in unfamiliar countries; it does not matter at what grade, easy or difficult.  But high safety standards are expected.  RHM bears no liability.

Key information:
  • Date: 24 August to 31 August 2013
  • Meeting place: Campsite in Pietramurata (campingdaino.com)
  • Register with: Elisabeth Busko, busko@gmx.de Tel: 01 71/638 56 52
